Welcome to Pocahontas Area Elementary Art!

 

Thank you for your interest in our elementary art program! Students get to use a variety of mediums in art like paint, clay, and various drawing tools like oil pastels and construction paper crayons.  

Meet the Teacher...

 

My name is Sasha Wieth.    

I am a 2006 graduate of Buena Vista University.       I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, with endorsements in Art, Reading, and Social Studies. I also have a Master's Degree in Reading through Morningside College. This is my 10th year of teaching. I have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, Kindergarten, and now Art!   Previously, I taught at St. Mary's School in Humboldt. I  have three children. My daughter is 17 years old and I have twin sons who are 14 years old. I have the best job in the world. I get to spend all day doing what I love, which is art!

Artsonia

This year you will be available to view your child's artwork in an online gallery!  Each week I will upload finished projects for viewing. With Artsonia, you have the option of sharing your child's artwork with relatives/friends that live far away and of purchasing items with your child's artwork.

National Art Standards

Throughout the United States, each State Department of Education creates policy and sets education standards to provide guidelines and expectations for what students should know and be able to do throughout k-12 schooling in their state.
